The Gardens at Tilden Gardens

At the time Tilden Gardens was constructed, the general practice was to devote approximately 80% of a tract of land to buildings and 20% to open space.

The Warren brothers challenged this convention. Shade trees, shrubs and flowers occupy three and a half of the campus’ five acres.
